Leadership wildlife - be more robin
My 8 year old has been learning all about how animals adapt to survive and thrive, and whilst he was recounting all the characteristics of wildlife in our garden, it made me think about which one am I?

Something different for a rather funny Friday....
Last week (hopefully) of home schooling, and our topic been wildlife habitats. My 8 year old has been learning all about how animals adapt to survive and thrive, and whilst he was recounting all the characteristics of wildlife in our garden, it made me think about which one am I?
So here’s my ramblings to take us into first week of the school holidays...
Here’s all the characters in our garden of life...
Hedgehog – gentle, wise, relaxed and sensitive, but can get a bit prickly under pressure and may be seen to just roll up and protect yourself in a crisis
Squirrel – plan ahead, keep active, go out on a limb, sometimes appear a little bit nuts, but that’s ok
Badger – a digger, committed to working tirelessly to achieving your goal, but can attack when surprised, and will get your claws out to protect your loved ones
Mouse – quiet, unassumed, head-down working, great at focusing at the details but can sometimes be seen as nitpicky and loves anything cheesy
Fox – ingeniuous, persistent, adaptable and can find a way round any problem but can sometimes creep around emptying out other people’s rubbish
Frog – agile, quick to transform and adapt to new challenges and looks beneath the surface to find the best in others, great at getting rid of unwanted bugs
Bee – friendly, hardworking, energetic and great in a team, constantly on the go
Robin – the faithful friend, brings joy, growth, no matter how troubled the situation is, will always appear and bring hope that spring is coming
So which one are you? And what does that mean for the people around you?
For me, at this point in time, I’d like to be a Robin... that symbol of hope, bringing a sense of calm and positive belief that something new is coming...
In reality, with the school holidays upon us, I’m probably a bit more squirrel...
So as a little bit of fun, I wrote myself this mind ramble...
If you’re feeling busy and always squirreling around,
Don’t badger other people
Take time to clear your mind f®og
Make sure those around you know you give a fox
Give yourself a hedgehug
Bee yourself,
And if you can’t...
Find that little bit of hope and
Be more robin.
